Last Saturday was our 15th Annual L.E.E. and it was wonderful!  The students did an outstanding job this year.  The title was changed this year to Let’s Enjoy Expressions.  All the grades performed using English, but grades 3 and 6 also used Japanese during their performances.

先週の土曜日は、第15回L.E.E.（Let’s Enjoy Expressions表現を楽しみましょう）があり、すばらしい発表会となりました！　子どもたちはとても頑張りました。今年は「表現を楽しむ」ことをテーマに、全学年とも英語で、また、3年生と6年生は日本語と英語で演じました。

Grade 1 did the World of Letters and performed 3 songs (Phonics song, Bingo song and the Alphabet song).  They did a great job.

1年生は「ワード・オブ・レターズ」と歌（フォニックスソング、ビンゴソング、アルファベットソング）を披露しました。みんなとても頑張りました。

Grade 2 did the short play the Farmer and the Beet and sang the song Old McDonald.  They learned this story last year in Japanese class.

2年生は「大きなかぶ」と Old McDonald（ゆかいな農場）の歌を披露しました。このお話は、昨年、国語の授業で習いました。

Grade 3 performed the story the Fox and His Guests in English and then as a musical in Japanese.  They brought many tears to the audiences’ eyes with their performance.

3年生は童話「きつねのお客様」をまず英語の朗読で、そして日本語の音楽劇で表現しました。見に来てくださった多くの方々の涙をさそいました。

Grade 4 continued their tradition of performing Gospel songs.  This year they performed the songs Hail Holy Queen and Brother Sun and Sister Moon.  They also recited St. Francis’ Prayer for Peace and performed two skits.  It was wonderful as usual.

4年生は今年もゴスペルソングを歌いました。今年は、Hail Holy Queen とBrother Sun and Sister Moonを歌いました。また、St. Francis’ Prayer for Peace の暗唱とスキットをふたつ披露しました。いつもながらすばらしい発表でした。

Grade 5 performed the musical, Mary Poppins.  It is always a challenge because of the English is very challenging, they have many songs to learn and must express themselves on stage.  This year they had a wonderful performance and put on a great show.

5年生はミュージカル「メリーポピンズ」を演じました。英語のせりふが難しく、歌もたくさん練習しなければならなかったので、舞台で演じることは、子どもたちにとってまさに挑戦でした。子どもたちは見事に演じきり、すばらしいショーになりました。

Grade 6 this year did Welcome to Yuri.  They wrote the script along with the teachers, made powerpoint slides, performed skits and sang the songs, Country Road and We Are the World.  They did a great job and it was very successful performance.

今年の6年生の発表は「百合学院へようこそ」でした。子どもたちは、先生のご指導のもと台本やパワーポイントでスライドを作成しました。「カントリーロード」と「ウイアーザワールド」も熱唱しました。一生懸命頑張った成果が発揮できました。
